Five years ago Jackie was overweight, unhappy and unfit. For many years she tried to lose weight without success and there seemed to be too many barriers to start exercising – the main one was confidence. With the right encouragement, she started a simple exercise regime and followed a sensible eating plan. After 8 months she completed her first 10km race – a goal she thought was completely impossible. Since then she has found a passion for exercise and loves to run. She has completed 3 marathons and numerous half marathons and other road and trail races.
Her goal for this year is to complete her first trail ultra marathon. Her passion for fitness has seen her change careers altogether and devote her time to training others. Being over 50 herself she understands the barriers and difficulties that can prevent people from being the best they can be. She is empathetic, patient and understanding – qualities she believes her clients need to achieve their goals.
Jackie is an experienced Senior’s Fitness Instructor. She understands the barriers most seniors face with movement and exercise and works with clients to improve their quality of life. She works specifically to improve balance, co-ordination, cardiac function, strength, mental wellbeing and flexibility in a fun environment.
